Water Lilies Triptych is the centerpiece of a larger body of paintings based on distinguishing light reflections between living objects and the fluid surface of their environment.  The paintings evoke tranquil and meditative qualities symbolically attributed to the plant, while drawing parallels to concepts inherent in painting of reality and illusion.  Combining formal abstract compositional elements with traditional approaches to representation, an emphasis is placed on vivid color and crisp shape in a manner true to the natural subject.
